Disappearance ปล่อยให้มันสูญไปเฉยๆ is a generative audiovisual installation represents the interconnected disappearance of traditional sounds and voices of marginalized people; metaphor into gongs. Using imaginary gong sound generated by algorithms based on specific frequencies that are tied to Southeast Asian sound cultures to connect and democratize interaction between each of the communities, including Karen(Myanmar–Thailand border), T’boli(Philippines), Vorayos(Thailand), and Bunong(Cambodia), as a constraint to create ritual music simultaneously.
The piece is inspired by a communal gathering gong ensemble rooted in Southeast Asian indigenous practices; its form is hypnotically repetitious, with melodies and rhythms spread out among the players using the hocketing technique in which a flowing line is distributed among all the musicians(David Toop.) The visual and sound contain noises that express the external distraction and attempt to dominate the space forcing the identity to be unclear, hazy, and disappearing.
